Autumn leaves

Autumn marks a significant shift in nature, a pivot point from a more active to a more passive phase of the year. In the Chinese calendar, autumn begins before the autumnal equinox; we discuss this in more detail here.

You can live in tune with autumn by:

  • Going to bed and arising early

  • Practicing breathing exercises to help you feel calm and peaceful

  • Avoiding smoking

  • Reining in your focus

  • Consuming oats, millet, corn, rice, carrots, leeks, radishes, cauliflower, beef, lamb, and other warming and mildly acrid/pungent foods
